All good things must come to an end

So, it looks like RS finally figured out a way how to stop my uploads.

I guess this is the end of this blog. I was going to retire it in 2013 anyway, so the end of the blog came just a little bit sooner than expected. That's why I'm not sad, just surprised. This blog was becoming more and more a huge time drain and I couldn't handle it anymore. I was doing all the editing work and it's just too much. I have other things to do.

Earlier today I was going to do a regular monthly refresh of all the links on RS servers via an automated script, but that thing failed for the same reason you guys can not download any file anymore. It's the "File owner's public traffic exhausted" message.

I don't want to upload to other providers, I'm sick of them. They are unreliable, have Captcha support and its a pain to download things from those providers with automated software like jDownloader.

RS was perfect in every way, the only bad thing about it was that it required monthly renewal of links so that they don't expire. I was doing just that since February via automated script. Easy and painless. Now, I can't do that anymore.

The whole process was automated, creation of thumbnails, uploading to RS, creating blogger posts (title, file link, tags), posting to Blogger, everything was controlled and executed by series of bash scripts. I only needed to edit the file, save it and execute the main script.

I'm too lazy to switch to another provider and make necessary changes to the scripts. I was planing to retire anyway so what's the point?

In its brief history this blog reached 27000 clicks per month at its peak. I think that's a good score for this kind of blog. In average, you could say it had 15000 clicks per month.
